Yield to Bikes

On the way to work today I came to a major intersection where I need to move from the right bike lane several lanes over to make a left-turn. I held out my arm in the standard hand signal for nearly 100 feet, while one car passed me by. Another car was behind him, but there was enough room so I moved into the lane. The guy laid on the horn for a very long honk. As he went past on my right, he delivered several more very long honks. Clearly he thought I was deeply in the wrong to make that maneuver. Ironically, while he was leaning on the horn, he made a right turn over the bike lane that I would otherwise have still been in, going past a sign that said “Yield to Bikes”.
